FCIAC Girls Soccer

The Fairfield County Interscholastic Athletic Conference (FCIAC) Girls Soccer teams presented Yale New Haven Hospital with a check during their final game on November 3rd. Donations were collected from 14 high schools in Fairfield County in honor of Laci Lewis, who underwent open heart surgery after suddenly going into cardiac arrest at a soccer game this past summer. Laci has since recuperated and is expected to go back to the field soon.
The organizer of this fundraiser, Emily DeNunzio whose grandfather is, Ralph DeNunzio, wanted to create awareness to highlight the importance of knowing CPR because her grandfather too went into cardiac arrest the prior year. He was saved by the SHARP team and received an award from his rescue team during the National EMS Week this year.
