Student raises money for Melanoma Program
For her National Junior Honor Society Leadership Project Kate Vasquez, a student at Madison Middle School in Trumbull, created hundreds of unique silver and copper bracelets that she sold to raise funds for the Melanoma Program in honor of her grandfather who was treated at Smilow Cancer Hospital. Kate recently met with Dr. Sajid Khan, surgical oncologist on the melanoma team at Bridgeport Hospital, at the Trumbull Smilow Care Center to present the proceeds from the sale of her bracelets.
