World Taekwondo Kick-A-Thon Fundraiser

Master KJ and Master Gunsoo’s event that took place on May 10th, raised $11,000 for the YNHCH Dogs in Residence Program!

Both Masters strive to give back to the community and promote this philosophy among their students. Taekwondo students from Fairfield & Monroe schools worked together and combined 11,000 kicks using electronic sparring targets to “count” the number of kicks. The number of kicks along with the financial donations were displayed on a large screen. Over 100 attended, including Taekwondo Masters, Instructors, students, their families and friends, and the Town of Fairfield Chief Operating Officer, David Becker.

Last year, both World Taekwondo Studios hosted a “Break- A -Thon Fundraiser” where students and their families donated $5/each breaking boards and also broke the boards. Break-A-Thon 2024 raised over $6,000 for the YNHCH Pediatric Intensive Care Unit in honor of the outstanding care and heartfelt thank you in the care of Ian Kim, Master Gunsoo Kim and Seungmin Kim’s baby boy who was born with a heart defect.
